Add Buttons

If you see this message at the top of the page, click the “Edit Options” button. On the next screen click “Allow”, and then “Close”. Then click the “Add Buttons” link, and “Install Now”.

Once the add-on completes installation, click “Restart Firefox” and we will pick up where we left off.

Firefox dethrones Microsoft Internet Explorer as Europe’s most popular web browser

Mozilla’s Firefox has replaced Microsoft’s Internet Explorer as the most popular web browser in Europe.

The open source browser took a 38.1 per cent market share across the continent last month, while Internet Explorer’s share slipped to 37.5 per cent. Google Chrome in third with 14.6 per cent market share.

Google Chrome saw its share rise to 14.6 per cent from just 5.1 per cent a year earlier.

Microsoft inclui “browser” alternativo no Windows

A Microsoft anunciou, que a parir de 1 de Março, os utilizadores do Windows vão ter a possibilidade de escolher outro browser que não seja a Internet Explorer.

Esta alternativa surge do acordo entre a Microsoft e a Comissão Europeia para a Concorrência, assinado em Dezembro de 2009.

O “update” vem incluído com o software do Windows XP, Windows Vista e Windows 7, a última versão lançada pela Microsoft, sendo que os browsers alternativos vão ser, o Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari e Opera.

“Os utilizadores vão poder escolher outro browser, além daquele que já têm”, referiu Dave Heiner, vice-presidente da Microsoft no seu blog, segundo escreve a BBC.

As novas versões do Windows já estão a ser testadas no Reino Unido, Bélgica e França.
